VP Marketing
The VP of Marketing will be responsible for all aspects of marketing with a focus on low-cost customer acquisition and conversion. You will review company objectives, and alongside the CEO, drive web marketing strategy and execution. To succeed in this role you must possess a unique blend of business and marketing savvy, enjoy being hands on, understand and be able to measure customer needs and trends, and find innovative marketing, communications, public relations, and advertising solutions that will grow revenue. Here’s what this means: - You will be responsible for the go-to-market strategies including product positioning, key benefits and appropriate target customers - You will be client-facing and involved in the indirect sales process - You will play a key role in revenue generation - You will be the marketing team that is responsible for our network suppliers - Your role will be both strategic and tactical For clarity, here’s what won’t be part of this position: - The responsibility to run a huge advertising budget - Managing a bunch of external agencies - Sitting behind a desk while delegating everything to your team Responsibilities - Managing the entire product line lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical implementation - Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and prospects - Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning - Optimization of our website to increase customer reach and value - Being a resource to the sales team for solution and creative strategy development - Analyzing potential partner relationships for the final product set - Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute. - Own the voice of the B2B/market communications for the business - Development and ownership of sales collateral that effectively communicates the new product offering - Optimization of outbound e-newsletters to customers - Providing content and structure for B2B Web site, including blogging - Leading and providing counsel to SEO resources Qualifications Ideal candidates will demonstrate successful experience with the responsibilities detailed above, and will possess many if not all of the following important traits: - Self motivator and independent thinker passionate about success - 10+ years of product management / marketing experience - Experience in internet business marketing driving demand to revenue - Well-versed in interactive technologies and social media marketing - Astounding written and oral communications skills and a willingness to communicate rapidly at most normal human hours - Personable and professional; active team contributor - Attention to detail and eagerness to learn in a fast paced, dynamic environment - Ability to think in new and innovative ways within a solutions-oriented setting Education Bachelors degree, with a concentration in marketing or related field preferred; relevant advanced degrees considered. Compensation IMPORTANT: Compensation for this position will be in the form of significant company equity until funding is available for competitive cash compensation commensurate with skills and experience; compensation will eventually include base salary, paid vacation, health, dental, 401(k) and many other perks.
